Herning Bladet (49 pct.)

Herning Bladet first came out on January 30, 1963. At that time, publishing a weekly newspaper that was fully financed by advertising and delivered door-to-door was a brand new phenomenon that had only been tried in Aalborg.

Herning Bladet was met with scepticism but soon turned out to be a feasible business concept. Herning Bladet became a model for many of the other district newspapers that emerged on the newspaper market in the following years.

Market position
Herning Bladet has a print-run of 50,000 and comes out once a week. It is distributed in Herning, Gullestrup, Lind, Gjellerup, Tjørring and Snejbjerg, Sdr. Felding to the south, Ikast to the east, Videbæk/Spjald to the west, and Aulum and Karup to the north.

The newspaper’s pages are open for debate and local events, and the newspaper emphasises its role as part of the total media picture in the region. Herning Bladet is the area’s most-read local weekly paper with average readership coverage of 88% and 77,000 readers each week.

Ownership
JP/Politikens Hus owns 49% of Herning Bladet. Media house Herning Folkeblad owns the remaining 51%.
